Become a Volunteer

We are very excited about your interest in becoming a part of our family as a volunteer. In order for our cats to be adopted, we need volunteers like you to help match them with potential parents, care for the kitties in our adoption center, and make our new arrivals feel comfortable.

To volunteer, you must:

  • Submit a volunteer application
  • Sign a Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability (will be given out at training)
  • Attend 3 training sessions
  • Take initiative, work independently, and with a team when needed.

Junior volunteers (Ages 14-17) may:

  • Volunteer with an adult (18 or older) with parental permission

Additional notes:

  • All volunteers must treat animals kindly, and with love and respect.
  • Volunteers are also expected to represent Furrever Friends and themselves in a professional and respectful manner.

Volunteer Training

Once you complete the volunteer application, our volunteer coordinator will process your application. If approved, you will recieve an email inviting you to sign up for training.

Training is mandatory. At training, new volunteers will learn about opening shifts, social shifts, and closing shifts at our Deptford Petsmart Adoption Center. You will also learn about the goals, policies, and procedures of FFRV, as well as the various volunteer opportunities available.

All trainings are held at our Deptford Petsmart Adoption Center, located at 2000 Clements Bridge Rd, Deptford, NJ.
